With tax season beginning the National Credit Union Administration has new online resources to help you protect yourself against tax identity theft.
Heartland Credit Union was one of 14 credit unions across the state of Minnesota participating in an orchestrated day to spread kindness in communities on Columbus Day, Monday, October 12.
Heartland volunteers visited Timber Hills Senior Living in Inver Grove Heights to assist with a variety of activities for the residents, including bingo and an Oktoberfest event. Timber Hills provides seniors a variety of comfortable living options from townhomes and senior apartments to assisted living.
“We look forward to this parade each year,” said Kathy Harrington, Heartland President. “It’s great to get out into the community we serve and thank our members for their continued business, as well as meeting others in the community.”

Over 240 financial education supporters, including a team of Heartland employees, friends and family members, participated in the second annual Minnesota Credit Union Foundation (MnCUF) Financial Literacy 5K on Saturday, July 11. The event was held at Lake Normandale in Bloomington and featured a walk/run for adults, as well as a half-mile fun run for kids.
In cooperation with Inverhills Church, the Church of St. Patrick and other IGH churches and businesses Heartland is working together to fill 1,500 backpacks with school supplies for this year’s "Back To School Bash.”
The winners of the 10th Annual Heartland Scholarship have been chosen. We had a great response and many excellent essays, making for a challenging decision.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue is warning customers about a scammer knocking on doors posing as an agent from the Department of Revenue. The scammer demands that the victim make immediate payment of back taxes owed. If you encounter a similar scam, please contact your local law enforcement.
